About Obair Newmarket on Fergus
Obair has been in existence in Newmarket On Fergus for 23 years. It provides a wide range of services to the community including Créche, Educational and Training Programmes, Community Café, Meals On Wheels, Heritage Section, Arts Programme and O'Regan Park Playground.
South Clare Meals on Wheels is a service that delivers meals to people in their home who are unable prepare their own meals. This service operates from Cafe Fergus in Newmarket on Fergus and primarily delivers to the elderly population of South Clare. These meals are delivered daily in the areas of Newmarket on Fergus, Sixmilebridge, Clarecastle, Quin, Kilmurry, Bunratty and Kilkishen Village.
The are currently looking for volunteer to join their team to carry out the following tasks:-
Assist in carrying the food from the collection point to the vehicle
Assist with taking the food into the homes of the elderly people in the area.
Spend a few minutes chatting with the people on the delivery route.
Accompany the driver as they return containers to the collection point.
Volunteers will alway carry out the deliveries in pairs and will be fully inducted before commencement.
This role will be carried out Monday to Friday between 10.30 and 1pm.

What's required for this position
The ideal volunteer must have good communication skills, have a caring nature and should have a natural ability to relate well with older people.
They should also have an interest and empathy with people in their senior years.
