About Phibsboro Cat Rescue
Phibsboro Cat Rescue is a not-for-profit rescue (registered charity number 20105297), based in Phibsboro, helping homeless, stray and feral cats and kittens in and around Dublin.
Since forming as a group of volunteers in June 2014, we have helped nearly 950 cats and kittens through our Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR), fostering and adoption programmes.
What's Involved
Are you interested in animal welfare and like to take a leadership role in a busy charity? We are a no kill cat rescue based in Dublin’s north inner city. Our mission is to help homeless, stray and feral cats and kittens through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), rescue, fostering and rehoming programmes in conjunction with our educational and advocacy work.
We are hoping to recruit a special volunteer to help manage all aspects of our volunteer programme.
You will be helping us by:
• Responding promptly by email to all volunteer enquiries (may be delegated to assistant once recruited) **
• Ascertaining which areas of PCR volunteer work best match each potential volunteer’s skill set & aspirations (may be delegated to assistant once recruited) **
• Reviewing needs of PCR and writing volunteer role descriptions
• Advertising volunteer role descriptions (on social media, iVolunteer, etc)
• Recruiting new volunteers
• Interviewing potential volunteers
• Communicating with volunteers to ensure they are supported & fulfilled in their role (may be delegated to assistant once recruited) **
• Attending relevant training courses (at Dublin City Volunteer Centre, The Wheel, The Law Society, The Charities Regulatory Authority, etc)
• Designing and delivering in-house training for volunteers and/ or researching external training, where required
• Motivating volunteers, including arranging social events with volunteers as part of team building (may be delegated to assistant once recruited) **
• Conducting Exit interviews
• Working closely with Chairperson towards attaining Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard.

• Supporting Volunteer Co-Ordinator Assistant (once recruited)
What's required for this position
The ideal person has a love of cats, is friendly, reliable, a team player but also able to take own initiative.
Desired Experience:
• Managing people (ideally managing volunteers)
• Working knowledge of human resources
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Highly computer literate

Location of volunteering opportunity:
Flexible but must include 2 hours each alternate Saturday (2 - 4pm) at our Kitty Hub in Phibsboro, Dublin 7
