The Daughters of Charity Disability Support Service support people with an intellectual disability, we are located in Dublin 7 & 15.

In 2013 the Daughters of Charity opened Willow View and Meadow View on the grounds on St Joseph’s Centre, Clonsilla.
These 2 bungalows are purpose Built Dementia Care Units and promote meaningful opportunities for communication and welcome family and community. The new Dementia Care Unity is an example of excellence in care.

What's Involved

• To assist the service user on a one to one basis and in a group setting with the development of their digital life story using an ipad.
• To listen to the service user
• To ensure we ‘do with’ rather than ‘do for’ so ensuring the service user reaches their full potential
• To support the service user with ipad technology
• To support the service user to develop and expand their life story using the ipad
• To support the service user to work at their individual pace
• To participate in any relevant training deemed appropriate to your role
• To liaise with and feedback to members of the Life Story project team
• To participate in reviews of the project
• To maintain confidentiality in relation to the service user and the life story project
• To treat the service user with the utmost respect

What's required for this position

• To have good communication and listening skills
• To have a friendly, sensitive and courteous manner
• To be willing to work as a team member and to work under supervision
• To be reliable in attendance and to be punctual

  • Computer/ Web/ ICT
  • Personable Skills

Level of English required for this role:
Fluent English

Times and commitment required for this role
