Amnesty International Ireland

About Amnesty International Ireland

Amnesty International Ireland is the country’s largest human rights organisation with over 15,000 members and supporters. We are part of a global movement of over 3.2 million people working in more than 150 countries around the world. Our sole concern is the protection of the fundamental human rights guaranteed to each one of us by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. For more info – www.amnesty.ie

What's Involved

Around the world, people are under attack and even being killed for who they love, how they dress and ultimately for who they are. Amnesty International Ireland is committed to standing up to discrimination against LGBTI people around the world. For that reason Amnesty Ireland will be both taking part in the Pride parade as well as doing a bucket collection to help support our campaign.

We are seeking volunteers to help us with a bucket collection in Dublin city after the Pride parade on 29th June. Between 3.30 and 7.30pm, we will be visiting the very busy streets of Dublin in pairs asking people to donate cash to our Amnesty buckets. This is a day of celebration so we are expecting people to be in a good mood and that you will enjoy the day too.

There will be a supervisor with you on the day, you will be wearing an Amnesty branded bib and you will be issued with an ID badge. After all our hard work, there will be a celebration for everyone involved, held in our offices in Fleet Street.

VERY IMPORTANT! We will hold an induction on Thursday 27th June at 6pm at Amnesty HQ. Here you will learn about our routes, what is expected of you and we will organise pairs. This will take one hour and it is imperative that all volunteers attend.
