About Swords Scouts

The Aim of Scouting Ireland is to encourage the physical, intellectual, character, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, to improve society.

What's Involved

A scouter commits to one evening a week to work with a team of leaders to deliver a programme of non-formal learning to a group of young people. Weekend and planning activities are all part of scouting also.

What's required for this position

Scouting is a great opportunity to develop interpersonal skills, leadership and communication skills, An interest in the outdoors, hiking, canoeing or camping are useful but not necessary.
