About Solas Drop In Centre
Solas Drop In Centre is a friendly and welcoming pillar of support to people in County Monaghan.
The Centre was established in 2001 as a response to the needs of people who, on discharge from the mental health services, identified social exclusion as being a major barrier.
Solas is user run, user led and provides those with mental health problems with a social outlet.
In this approach recovery is seen as a personal journey rather than a set outcome, and one that may involve developing a secure base and sense of self, supportive relationships, empowerment, social inclusion and coping skills.
The vision for Solas is to provide a listening ear and peer support with the emphasis on recovery. Our objective has been achieved and to date we have won many awards, such as being described as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Mental Health Commission.
