About Irish Cancer Society

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity dedicated to preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer through patient care, research and education. The main work of the Society is the delivery of nursing services to patients with cancer throughout Ireland, including funding hospital based Oncology Liaison Nurses, community based Night Nursing for patients in their home, and Home Care Nursing teams. The Society also operates a FreeFone Cancer Helpline, staffed by fully qualified nurses, and is the largest single voluntary supporter of cancer research in Ireland.

What's Involved

The Cannonball Run has kindly chosen the Irish Cancer Society as their charity partners for this year’s event.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with our bucket collection to raise vital funds that provide services for children and adults on their cancer journey.

We need four people on Thursday 5th September from 6 - 9pm and four people on Friday 6th September from 12 - 4pm. around Malahide Castle and Gardens while the Cannonball vehicles are parked up.

You will get up close to incredible cars, meet the drivers and the accompanying characters, enjoy some FREE entertainment and above all, help us to support the Cannonball's chosen charity, The Irish Cancer Society.

The famous Cannonball Ireland Road Trip around Ireland will start at Malahide Castle and Garden on Thursday 5th and depart for Killarney on Friday 6th.

What's required for this position

All you need is a smile on your face and enjoy the entertainment while you collect money for Irish Cancer Society.
