About An Siol CDP
An Síol provides services to the local community in Stoneybatter. Older people services included meals, activities, and support. Education services for children and young people include a family learning club, homework clubs. A volunteer tuition programme and a welfare rights information service are provided to the local community.
What's Involved
We are seeking volunteers to work with older adults/seniors to aid them in their technology skills.
This could range from the following basic skills:
turning on the computer
being shown how to do their online shopping.
The participants also bring in their smartphones and their own laptops in to be shown how to use them.
If you have good general computer skills and wish to help older people gain basic knowledge and grow in confidence in the use of computers and the internet, we would love to hear from you.
Commitment:
An Síol run a drop in computer class every Wednesday morning for 2 hours, based in Dublin 7.
What's required for this position
The volunteers are expected to have general computer technology and smart phone skills. Patience and respect are essential qualities that the volunteers must possess.
