About Feed Our Homeless

Feed Our Homeless is working to end homelessness in Dublin's inner city.

What's Involved

Our emergency outreach provides essentials in order to get individuals experiencing homelessness through the night such as food, clothing, sleeping bags, toiletries, and support if needed. Our team operates 7 nights weekly between 8:30pm - 1:30am, covering Dublin city, mainly parks, canals and the A&E in hospitals.

Roles:
We are looking for volunteers for two of our roles:

  • Volunteers who will drive one of our vans and who must hold a full driving license
  • Volunteers who will accompany the driver and help with the deliveries

    Key Responsibilities:
  • To build trust and relations with our service users, with food being a gateway into understanding their situation.
  • To nurture existing external connections with other agencies within the homeless sector.
  • To become part of a dedicated team of volunteers participating in relevant training, critical team meetings, and situational reviews.
  • To provide a consistent standard of service and to adhere to the Feed Our Homeless best practice at all times.
  • To complete all administrative tasks which are related to the outreach services. This could include incident reports and gathering relevant information for possible interventions on behalf of the service users.
  • To report to a team leader and to liaise with them on all matters.
