About Cairde Activation Centre
Cairde Activation Centre CLG is a day care service for adults with intellectual disabilities which endeavours to advance the provision of a community based, high quality service which maximises the individual’s potential, independence, active citizenship and community integration.
Cairde aims to offer a person centred approach that reflects the needs and aspirations of each individual with an Intellectual Disability with emphasis on integration with the wider community.
Come and volunteer with a small group of service users to help prepare wooden crafts. This can include the use of equipment such as saws or router as well as handheld tools.
The volunteer will work with the group to come up with ideas of what to make / design. Then they will work with them preparing the wood (marking, cutting, sanding etc) to make the finished product.
Cairde will provide all equipment needed. We are flexible about the day and time the person can come it. It can be for a short period but would we prefer to work with the volunteer on a more long term basis.
What's required for this position
This role is for someone confident working with carpentry equipment. A carpentry qualification is preferable but not essential.
