About Cairde Activation CLG
Cairde Activation CLG is a community-based support service for adults with disabilities. It works with the person to achieve their full potential and live a life of their choosing. Our day service provides access to a range of supports and activities in line with the objectives set out in New Directions. It is open five days per week and there is an emphasis on integration into the wider community and active citizenship. Cairde Activation aims to offer a person-centred approach that reflects the needs and aspirations of each individual. What's Involved
Come and volunteer with a small group of service users to help prepare wooden crafts. This can include the use of equipment such as saws or router as well as handheld tools.
The volunteer will work with the group to come up with ideas of what to make / design. Then they will work with them preparing the wood (marking, cutting, sanding etc) to make the finished product.
Cairde will provide all equipment needed. We are flexible about the day and time the person can come it. It can be for a short period but would we prefer to work with the volunteer on a more long term basis.
What's required for this position
This role is for someone confident working with carpentry equipment. A carpentry qualification is preferable but not essential.
