The Ideal Flatmate Dublin

About The Ideal Flatmate Dublin

The Ideal Flatmate was created in May of 2013 with the sole purpose of helping people find flatmates in Dublin’s rapidly growing metropolitan area. As rent prices have gone up significantly, more and more people have chosen to open up their homes to help alleviate the costs. Opening up your home to someone you do not know can be unsettling, so the Ideal Flatmate was created to help people get to know their potential flatmates before agreeing to meet with them in person. We are also a platform for landlords to post available rooms or entire places on our group to further help unify those looking for a room with those who are looking for a tenant. We believe that we can help our members find the right people with whom to live harmoniously.

What's Involved

As successful as the group has become, there are some limitations on how we can organise all of the information provided on the Facebook page, so we are in the process of creating a website to better serve our members’ needs and realign with our mission.

Our hope is that we can help each other. We have already started the project, but there is still a lot to be done. We are looking for someone to help us with the front-end development of our website. We would be happy to let you use the project in your portfolio and we would be glad to be a reference for you if you need one in the future. We would also like to offer to promote you on the page for any other projects or endeavors you may have in the future.

The Ideal Flatmate administration consists of a small group of friends who are all voluntarily working on this project together. Our back-end developer has already created the framework for the website so we are in need of someone who can clean up the front-end to be more presentable and user friendly while also focusing on the user experience. This project is collaborative and all ideas are welcomed. We encourage creative freedom as long as it adheres to our goals.

For our website, we are wanting to create something unique and modern that is cleanly formatted and easily navigable. Here are some comparable websites you can pull some inspiration from:
