About All Lives Matter
All Lives Matter aims to inform people about incidents where people's human rights are being dismissed, both internationally and at home. Legal change, here and abroad, has redefined the standing of human lives, e.g. in their early and late stages when people are at their most vulnerable. Our group aims to highlight this and examine the fate of minorities like the Rohingya in Myanmar, the Kachin (in Myanmar), the indigenous Awajúns (in Peru) or Yaqui (in Mexico).
What's Involved
Human life is increasingly vulnerable, in cases where resources are limited or people are seen as different. The Rohingya of Myanmar are widely known to be targets. However, many people do not know about the Kachin of Myanmar, the Waorani of Peru, the Diamond Miners of Zimbabwe or the Native Canadian women and others - who are all also being killed. Taking a joined-up approach to basic Human Rights, we aim to examine why those at risk have either no or ineffectual legal protection. By advocating for and with them, as a group, we hope to make a difference.
We have developed an Algorithm, a powerful tool believed to be the first of its kind, which calculates an Insecurity Index Number for each category of victim. To one side of law, religion and (importantly) personal views, endangered cohorts are simply ascribed a calculated number. We are looking for someone to help conduct this important research.
The task is a volunteer, part-time one with no particular demands on your time. Prospective members will be comfortable using FB and other Social Media. Be part of a group, the first to highlight these issues.
What's required for this position
Applicants need to be prepared to do internet research (with assistance) on target cohorts, so that the Algorithm can be run for them. We ask that volunteers are able to see a task through to the end.
