What's Involved

The board of directors at Victim Support at Court, or V-SAC, seek expressions of interest from individuals with relevant financial expertise seeking to become a director. The main duty of the financial director will be to advise the board on budgeting and expenditure matters and to speak to monthly accounts prepared by the V-SAC General Manager and our part-time accountant.

• Advising the board on matters of good financial governance and ethical standards
• Advising the board on matters of expenditure and budgeting
• Monitoring and speaking to monthly reports of financial activities (prepared by the General Manager and accountant)
• Assisting the General Manger in preparing an annual budget and funding application
• Liaising with the General Manager, accountant and auditor on financial and annual reporting
• Acting as a co-signatory on cheques and/ or Electronic Fund Transfers

Treasurer time commitment: 3-6 hours per month approx. In line with legislation, V-SAC directors are unpaid with out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed. V-SAC board meetings usually take place in Dublin City Centre.

We are at the forefront of delivering a high-quality court accompaniment service within the Irish judicial system and are currently piloting an expansion project which would see V-SAC become a truly national service.

What's required for this position

Background in finance and accountancy.
