About Scariff Comunity Council
Scariff Community Council represent the local businesses and members of the local community. They carry out many projects relating to town enhancements. They manage the running of a voluntary community tourist office in Scariff. They oversee the upkeep of the Riverside Park and Playground and also represent the Clare County Council on local issues relating to town infrastructure, parking etc.
What's Involved
They are currently looking for 2 volunteer tourist information officers to provide local travel, hospitality and accommodation information to tourists and to promote local attractions in the area.
The tasks will be as follows:-
Answer questions from tourists, visitors, local residents, in person, via email or online.
Make suggestions on tours, travel routes, accommodation and local attractions.
Provide literature and information on local tours and places of interest.
Maintain literature and brochure stocks.
Undertake general clerical and office duties
Updating/amending of website.
Assist in gathering information and to help with the editing of the Scariff Community Newsletter,
Sending out email/letters for payment
Recording of tourist numbers and nature of enquiries either manually in a visitor’s book or electronically on a database.
They are looking for support 2 mornings a week from 11am to 1pm on any morning from Monday to Friday at their base in Scariff. If you have 4 hours during the week and have the skill set for this admin role please contact Dolores 065 68 45517
What's required for this position
Enjoy working with people.
Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Good organisational skills.
Capable of working on their own initiative.
Good geographical knowledge of the East Clare area.
Comfortable working with computers, a knowledge application such as MS Word, MS Spreadsheets & MS Database will be an advantage.
