About Irish Red Cross
The Irish Red Cross works both at home in Ireland and in countries overseas which have been damaged by wars or natural disasters. The Irish Red Cross is part of the largest global network of voluntary humanitarian action in the world - the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement - which has a national organisation in nearly every country in the world - some 188 Red Cross or Red Crescent societies in total.
What's Involved
Migration Buddy Volunteers act as a link between newly settled refugees and and their new community and help the person access the relevant services and amenities in their new local community.
This might involve helping someone join local clubs/sports teams, linking them in with local services or simply meeting for a coffee and a chat.
Buddies play a huge part in helping a refugee settle into Irish life by showing a refugee their local bank, supermarket or assisting with application for educational courses or jobs.
What's required for this position

- Garda Vetting

- Support/ advice/ recognition
- Initial induction and training
- Reimbursement of expenses
