What's Involved

We are looking for volunteers to get involved with RADE to:

1. Assist facilitation of art & drama workshops, and
2. Assist in the production of films, dramas and art exhibitions.
3. Give encouragement and support to service-users and
4. Liaise closely with staff in delivering the RADE programme.

More about Us
RADE (recovery through art, drama, education) is a community employment training scheme where participants engage daily in a variety of workshops: Drama, Dance, Film, Creative Writing, Art, Tai Chi, Relapse Prevention, Yoga.

Our purpose is to help to improve drug-users’ quality of life and address their sense of isolation and boredom through the use of cultural activities that are plausible and attainable. We believe that what is missing in the lives of many users is the belief that they have a capacity to contribute to society.

What's required for this position

We need volunteers with backgrounds in either the visual arts, drama, film-making, event-management, costume design and related disciplines such as creative writing.
Facilitation experience is desirable but not essential, as is experience of working with marginalised groups or the community sector.
