About Depaul
Depaul is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support through hostels and outreach services. Depaul believes that everyone should have a place to call home and a stake in their community. Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations such as the society of St Vincent de Paul.
What's Involved
The Depaul Raft Race Against Homelessness is our flagship fundraising event. The event takes place in Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2 on June 27th.
There will be Raft Races, a children’s play area, a football shoot-out, a DJ and more. To make all this happen we need amazing volunteers!
The event, including setup and breakdown, will run from 5pm to 10pm. Volunteer shifts will be for a 3-4 hour duration.
A briefing for volunteers will take place on the evening of June 19th.
Registration & Awards Area
Volunteers will check in teams as they arrive and distribute event t-shirts to all participants. When all teams have registered, volunteers will then manage the certificates and trophies, making sure that teams collect their cert before they leave and awards are ready to present at the end of the event.
What's required for this position
Good communication and organisational skills needed to manage the registration area. Friendly personality and willingness to chat with participants as they arrive and make them feel welcome. While you will be required to act on your own initiative, full training will be given and Depaul staff will be on hand to help.
