About Depaul
Depaul is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support through hostels and outreach services. Depaul believes that everyone should have a place to call home and a stake in their community. Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations such as the society of St Vincent de Paul.
What's Involved
The Depaul Raft Race Against Homelessness is our flagship fundraising event. The event takes place in Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2 on June 27th.
There will be Raft Races, a children’s play area, a football shoot-out, a DJ and more. To make all this happen we need amazing volunteers!
The event, including setup and breakdown, will run from 5pm to 10pm. Volunteer shifts will be for a 3-4 hour duration.
A briefing for volunteers will take place on the evening of June 19th.
Football Shoot-Out!
Manage our Football Shoot-Out into goalposts in the basin. Each person gets 5 shots at hitting the ball into the net and those who score 5 out of 5 win a prize. This game is a lot of fun and very popular!
What's required for this position
An interest in football is an advantage but not a requirement. Volunteers with a keen eye and good organisational skills needed to judge this competition.
