About Depaul
Depaul is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support through hostels and outreach services. Depaul believes that everyone should have a place to call home and a stake in their community. Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations such as the society of St Vincent de Paul.
What's Involved
The Depaul Raft Race Against Homelessness is our flagship fundraising event. The event takes place in Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2 on June 27th.
There will be Raft Races, a children’s play area, a football shoot-out, a DJ and more. To make all this happen we need amazing volunteers!
The event, including setup and breakdown, will run from 5pm to 10pm. Volunteer shifts will be for a 3-4 hour duration.
A briefing for volunteers will take place on the evening of June 19th.
Children’s Play Area Coordinators
Do you like working with children? If so this is the role for you! You will be greeting parents and children as they come into the play area and making sure the toys and games are set up for their kids to use. There will also be a colouring competition. The Face Painter will work out of this area too.
What's required for this position
A knack for working with children and keeping them engaged. Children will be accompanied by their parents while they are in the play area. Volunteers just need to facilitate game, organise the colouring competition and judge who the winners is. There will be a prize for the winner.
