About Baldoyle Racecourse Community Garden

Gathering the Baldoyle Community to share skills knowledge and interests in organic gardening. In March 2013, we were given land by Fingal County Council and through volunteering our time, we built a 44 bed garden. We manage and maintain the garden ourselves. We are starting an expansion on 4th March 2016.

What's Involved

Volunteers would to work in the garden to 1-2 hours a week, at a pre-arranged time and would also assist at the monthly Maintenance Day (one Saturday a month).

Volunteers would meet up with someone from the BRCG committee to assist with the tasks.

Some examples of tasks:

- Maintenance of the compost area.
- Weeding and planting of perimeter flower beds.
- Grass cutting.

Taking part in monthly Maintenance Day (one Saturday a month) with members of the garden to carry out larger jobs e.g. hedge trimming, mending fencing, clearing old beds.

What's required for this position

some experience of gardening would help but training will be provided
