About SOSAD Carrickmacross
SOSAD supports people who have been bereaved by suicide and people who feel depressed and/or suicidal. We are a registered charity.
Our aims are:
Raise awareness of suicide in Ireland.
Break the taboo surrounding suicide.
Provide support and direction to those feeling suicidal.
Provide support and direction to those approached by someone feeling suicidal.
Provide support and direction for those bereaved by suicide.
What's Involved
The volunteer will be responsible for providing counselling to clients who may be suffering from depression, at risk from suicide or bereaved by suicide.
What's required for this position
Volunteers must have a qualification in counselling which is accredited by a counselling body. Experience dealing with individuals who are suffering from depression or who may be suicidal would be an advantage.
