Dolphin's Barn - Grand Canal Clean Up Volunteers

The Grand Canal Clean Up Group

About The Grand Canal Clean Up Group

This organisation is more about picking up rubbish. We go out to show that we care about the canal. We also advocate for changes to the Canal maintenance to DCC and Waterways Ireland

What's Involved

This clean up group cover from Dolphins Barn Bridge to Sallys Bridge. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 1pm at the Dolphins Barn Bridge across from the bottle banks. We provide litter pickers and gloves and we have arranged for DCC to pick up the litter afterwards. We are interested in advocacy to implement changes to the canal maintenance with Waterways Ireland.

There is no screening process, please just turn up on the day to get involved. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month. To get involved, please go to the meeting point just before 1pm. The meeting place is Dolphins Barn Bridge, across from the bottle banks (Dublin 8).
Weather Permitting, we may not always be there if the weather is really bad.

About the Group
As a group, we are interested in botany and conversation and encouraging the natural fauna and vegetation along the canal to grow wild, to allow for pollination.
