What's Involved
Volunteers will be involved with the school's care team which engages with students who are experiencing emotional and behavioural issues or bereavement. The aim is to provide solution-focused support to these young people.
This role involves:
1. Providing counselling support for young people who are experiencing emotional and behavioural issues or bereavement.
2. Observing students in their learning environment when the need arises.
3. Providing support for young people who are affected by mental health issues.
What's required for this position
* Previous training and experience in supporting young people dealing with mental health or behavioural difficulties is essential.
* Understanding of the emotional and behavioural difficulties that the young person is experiencing.
* Ability to establish a relationship with the young person in an effort to address their problems.
* Ability to provide solution-focused support to young people.
* Ability to work in partnership with other staff.

Fluent English
