Volunteer Driver - Meals on Wheels

KARE Social Services

About KARE Social Services

KARE Social Services is a charitable organisation which was founded in 1965 by volunteers. Today KARE provides Home Help, Meals on Wheels, Citizens Information and a Community Minibus service. Our Meals on Wheels kitchen also provides a dinner to residents and locals in one of our sheltered Dublin City Council accommodation kitchens.
Our Mission Statement is to ‘Support and improve quality of life by enabling older people to live independently at home’.

What's Involved

We are looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to hundreds of people in their homes each week. If you can spare just one hour a week between 12 and 1pm, contact us.

KARE are currently seeking volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels services in Dublin 5, 7 and Dublin 15 areas. Our Volunteers give of their time, one hour per week usually, or more if you are keen, to deliver a hot nutritious meal to an elderly person in their own homes. All hot containers and training is provided.

The driver collects the meal from our Community kitchen and delivers in the local area.

What's required for this position

Clean driving licence and own car. A smiling happy person is all that is required, someone who knows the geographical area would be helpful but not a requirement. Garda Vetting is a requirement and we will assist with this process. Whether you have one hour per day or one hour per week, we would be delighted to hear from you.
