About Society of St.Vincent de Paul (SVP)
Society of St. Vincent de Paul tackle poverty in all its forms through the provision of practical assistance to those in need, working for social justice and the creation of a more just and caring nation.
What's Involved
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is the oldest and largest, voluntary, charitable organisation in Ireland. The Society is a volunteer organisation that is always in need of volunteers. The work is challenging but very rewarding.
The SVP is involved in a wide variety of works in support of those in need which means there are many ways in which you can give your time to help the Society. The sort of activities you can become involved in will depend entirely upon your own personal interests. Some activities the Society participates in are:
1. Home Visitation
2. Hospital and Prison Visits
3. Youth clubs/Homework clubs, etc
4. Shop/ Retail work
Volunteers generally give a couple of hours a week to their work, so you can give as little or as much time as you want. In the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, too few people are trying to do too much. We need your help to help people in need. We look forward to hearing from you.
