About Irish Wheelchair Association- Sligo Branch
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is one of Ireland's leading social enterprises and representative organisations for people with physical disabilities.
We provide a range of services intended to support independent living and improve quality of life. The largest of our services is our Assisted Living Service (ALS), which provides one-to-one support of a personal assistant to an individual in their home, workplace, school/college or local community.
Other services include:
Resource and Outreach Centres in local communities;
Transport;
Driving assessment, tuition and advice;
Holiday services;
Plus a range of educational opportunities, information, housing supports and youth services.
IWA operates from every county in Ireland. Our Sligo base is next to St. Anne's church (beside Aldi & the Firestation).
What's Involved
We have a number of service users who really like arts and crafts. If you have such a skill or experience that you would like to share with them, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for volunteers to facilitate workshops on the creative arts, painting and general art work etc.
Volunteers are needed for 2 hours each week. A day has yet to be decided but will not take place on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Must have good communication skills, have a sense of disability awareness and knowledge of the skill they are demonstrating
