About New Communities Partnership (NCP)
NCP (New Communities Partnership)is an independent national network of 150 migrant-led groups comprising of 65 nationalities with offices in Dublin and Cork with outreach to other cities. The mission of NCP is to act as an effective network representing and empowering ethnic minority-led groups and leaders, at all levels, in order to influence positive change in policies that impact on their lives.
What's Involved
The programme links volunteer teachers with the primary and secondary schools in Dublin to provide weekly English Language and homework support to migrant children from non-English speaking families. The schools involved are providing our project volunteers with the adequate space for the delivery of the English Homework Club classes.
NCP Youth Volunteer Role
• Working with NCP Youth once a week for one hour to deliver weekly classes to specific schools in Dublin Inner City (Dublin 1 and Dublin 7)
• Helping migrant students with English and homework in their schools after school hours: around 2.30pm to 3.30pm
• Working in collaboration with the school teachers to deliver effective supports to migrant students.
