Assistant LadyBird Leader

Irish Girl Guides Clondra

About Irish Girl Guides Clondra

The Irish Girl Guides is a uniquely girl-only, youth-driven, active and dynamic organisation. It offers a varied and exciting programme for girls and young women aged 5-26, and opportunities for Leaders of all ages. In an all-female organisation, the girls are free to progress and express themselves in a comfortable setting. They enjoy the activities as they can ‘just be girls’ without any pressures and learn to be themselves in a safe environment while learning the skills that will one day help them to be responsible citizens and adults.

What's Involved

Assistant leader required for Ladybirds in Clondra for girls aged between 5yrs and 7 years. The role involves delivering a program to girls for about one hour a week. The Program is in place, but the volunteer can use their own initiative in how they deliver it. New Assistant Leaders will be invited to work towards their warrant. A warrant is a licence to be a recognised Leader in the Irish Girl Guides and to hold one you must be enrolled as a member. The warrant scheme is based on a period of service with a Unit and you can work on it as you go along. Further information can be found in the Adult Training section. Leaders are required to have ongoing training. This is essential for Leaders to gain knowledge, understanding and skill in their particular role in Guiding and to carry out their responsibilities more effectively. Trainings are held on a local, regional and national level. Further information can be found in the Adult Training section.
