What's Involved
The Leader or as known within Scouting, the Programme Scouter, is primarily responsible for the delivery of Scouting of the highest quality through the Youth Programme of Scouting Ireland to its youth members.
Leaders will work with Cub Scouts who are 9-11 year olds,
Time commitment for leaders is approx 2 hours per week - we could also facilitate people who could commit to an occasional weekend for camps - in lieu of or as well as weekly meetings.
Key areas of responsibility:
*Working with a team of leaders, planning and preparing for weekly meetings and supplementary activities, outings and camps.
* To operate and carry out those plans at the meeting and /or activity.
* To undertake the necessary training provided and required by Scouting Ireland to facilitate the delivery of the youth programme.
*Training and Programme Material Provided
Garda vetting must be carried out and child protection training will organized for all volunteers. Support and on-going leader training provided.

Patience, good humour and commitment to helping children and young people achieve their potential as active contributing members of the local community. Love of outdoors a bonus!
