South West Inner City Network (SWICN) is a community organization founded in 1994 and based in the inner city of Dublin. The aim of SWICN is to tackle poverty and social exclusion through partnership and constructive engagement between Government and its agencies and people in disadvantaged communities.

What's Involved

We are looking for volunteers to provide language support for international students 15-17 years old. in the non-formal education setting. The role of the tutor is to provide conversational English class and co-facilitate group activities.

Commitment:
The sessions will take place on a Thursday evening, 5pm-6.30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing individual language support to young people of secondary school age.
  • Engaging in a non-formal learning group activities.
  • Home-work help (optional).
  • Be friendly, patient and encouraging
  • All tutors working with young people have to undergo Garda Vetting process

    What's required for this position

    Previous teaching experience is welcome but not required. Tutors should be friendly, patient and encouraging.
