About 2nd/3rd/10th Sligo Scout Group
The 2/3/10 Sligo (Town) Scout Group established in 1932, is a registered member of Scouting Ireland. Scouting Ireland helps 6-26 year olds to grow in confidence, achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities. Scouting Ireland has 500 groups throughout the 32 counties of the island of Ireland.
What's Involved
The Sligo (Town) Scout Groups is seeking new volunteers to help existing leaders run the weekly clubs in the Scout Den and possibly get involved in weekend / school holiday trips.
We would love to hear from anyone interested in helping our existing leaders run our activities.
Scout activities are age appropriate and can include nature games/team building exercises/good citizenship/leadership opportunities/arts and crafts/scout engineering/map and compass work.
Outdoor activities include hiking, camping, survival & backwoods skills in the out-of-doors.
Clubs:
Mondays 6.30-7.30pm- Beavers (6-8 yrs)
Wednesdays 7.00-8.30pm - Cubs (9-11yrs)
Friday 8.00-9.30pm Scouts (12-14 years)
Volunteers commit to:
1- Becoming a member of a Team of Leaders.
2- Plan and preparing for weekly meetings with co-leaders.
3- Undertake necessary training provided by Scouting Ireland.
4- Adhere to Safety Guidelines and policies.
5- Attending meetings of the Scout Group.
The induction process will take a minimum of 6 weeks and involves completion of:
* Garda Vetting and application form
* 30 minute eLearning module
* 2.5 hours interactive training workshop
* Support and training with the Group Leader including visits to the different Programme Sections
* Two day residential course

What's required for this position
Enjoy working with young people. Take part in the indoor and outdoor activities of the Scout Group. Be flexible and a good team player.
