Monthly Royal Canal Clean Up - 2nd Saturday every month. (D1, D7 & D15)

Royal Canal Clean-Up Group

About Royal Canal Clean-Up Group

The Royal Canal Group are a bunch of local residents who meet on the second Saturday of every month to clean-up the area around the banks of the Royal Canal and on the canal itself.

We exist to bring people together in an effort to keep the canal a clean and appealing place. We are particularly interested in having volunteers who live in the immediate area to join us, but we welcome everyone.

The Royal Canal Way is a wonderful public amenity in Dublin City, and we want to make it even better!

What's Involved

Do you want to help make the Royal Canal a more pleasant place to spend time? Are you looking for a way to get involved locally and meet new people?

We meet once a month on the 2nd Saturday, to clear rubbish from the Royal Canal. We clean up along the towpath and surrounding land and a few of us also come out in kayaks, to get the hard to reach floating rubbish.

We have all the gear you will need, for either water or land, you just need to wear old clothing and a hat in the summer and we’ll provide the rest.

If you’ve kayaked before, or would like to give it a go, please contact Nessa in advance by email at royalcanalcleanup@gmail.com
