What's Involved

The Liberties Festival, organised by SICCDA in collaboration with Cuckoo Events, is one of Ireland’s oldest festivals. From modest beginnings in 1970 it has grown to become a highlight of the summer in Dublin with a series of family-friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting multi-cultural and arts programme encompassing visual art, film, dance, comedy, literature and music.

This event, "Opera in the Open" will be taking place in the grounds of St. Audeon's Church, weather permitting. If the weather is not being co-operative, we will retreat to the sanctuary of John’s Lane Church on Thomas St., a mere stone’s throw away. It will be a mixed programme of operatic favourites.

The volunteers will be involved in setting up for the event, checking tickets, guiding people into the church venue and seating them, and handing out water. The event takes place from 7-8.30pm. Tidying up after the event also needs to be carried out.

The date for this event has not been confirmed so watch this space!!
