About An Siol CDP
An Síol provides services to the local community in Stoneybatter. Older people services included meals, activities, and support. Education services for children and young people include a family learning club, homework clubs. A volunteer tuition programme and a welfare rights information service are provided to the local community.
What's Involved
The An Síol education programme provides free tuition for second level students in the North West Inner City Dublin, prioritising Junior and Leaving Certificate students.
We are looking for tutors in all subjects.
The students are paired with a volunteer tutor for an hour long one-to-one session on a weekly basis. Tuition takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays. The time slots are 6.00-7.00 p.m. and 7.00-8.00 p.m. Tutors and their students meet in the canteen area of the school and are supervised and supported by An Siol’s education services staff.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers are asked to commit one or more hours a week from October to May. Tuition does not take place during school holidays. It takes place on Manor Street in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7.
What's required for this position
Tutors are required to have studied the subject they intend to tutor at a third level standard.
Good communication skills.

Must complete a Garda vetting/ background check for working with vulnerable people.
