Breakfast Club Volunteer in Homeless Accommodation

Depaul

About Depaul

Depaul is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support through hostels and outreach services. Depaul believes that everyone should have a place to call home and a stake in their community. Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations such as the society of St Vincent de Paul.

What's Involved

We all know how important it is to start your day with a healthy breakfast. In Depaul we work with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is especially true in the case of people who are experiencing social isolation and who have complex needs including addictions.

Breakfast Club volunteers help to cook and serve a hot breakfast to encourage our service users to eat a good meal and start their day well. Another important element of the Breakfast Club is promoting social interaction, befriending service users and building motivation and self-esteem.

Volunteers will work independently, but have the support of the staff team, especially when they first begin and are still getting to know the service users.

Volunteer Induction will take place on Saturday 6th April.
