What's Involved

Are you looking to expand your network and progress your career? Do you have a couple of hours to spare a week and would like to help in the development of a valuable community resource?

Purpose of this Role:
As a member of our Board you will gain valuable personal and professional experience. You will be involved in:
* making decisions for members
* approving loans
* new members marketing and promoting
* being involved in local schools poster competitions and the youth in our area.
* Financial decisions in relation to investments for the credit union
* corporate governance being compliant with central bank regulations and recent legislation changes also taking decisions about our risk profile.

Time Commitment
You should be available for at least 15 to 20 hours per month. You will be attending a monthly board meeting and also be active on a sub committee.

Full Training and mentoring is provided

What's required for this position

Please note: You must be a member of the credit union and either live or work in our common bond area - Dublin 11.

More About You:
We are looking for volunteers that may have served on a Board previously or new members will receive full training.

Have you experience in any of the following areas; Risk Management, Compliance, Strategic Decision Making, Budgets and financial forecasting, Marketing or Technology.

  • Accountancy/ Finance
  • Business/ HR/ Management
  • Community Development/ Social work
  • Computer/ Web/ ICT
  • Education/ Training
  • General Admin/ Office Support
  • Legal
  • Personable Skills

Level of English required for this role:
Intermediate English

Times and commitment required for this role


Minimum time commitment: 2 years

Hours required: 2hrs Weekly
