Mobile Veterinary Unit Driver (C1 Licence)

The Irish Blue Cross

About The Irish Blue Cross

The Irish Blue Cross, founded in 1945, is a registered animal care charity. We provide a long established, volunteer-based, mobile clinic small-animal service at ten Dublin locations and in 2009 we opened a new small-animal clinic at Inchicore. The charity services target the neediest of pet owners, providing practical support and assistance as well as educating pet owners on the benefits of responsible pet ownership. During the charity’s sixty-four years of existence, well over half a million small animals have received care. The charity also provides a horse ambulance service that attends race meetings throughout Ireland, working in co-operation with racecourse vets. This service is fully funded by the racing authorities.

What's Involved

Our Volunteer Drivers drive The Irish Blue Cross Mobile Veterinary Units to locations within Dublin from our central base at Inchicore. The clinics commence from 6.30pm and operate up to 8/8.30pm. The mobile unit will need to be picked up from the central base approximately an hour ahead of the clinic start time to allow enough time to reach the destination, taking traffic, etc into consideration.

On arrival, the driver will assist in a general capacity with the queue of clients and when the clinic is finished, he/she will drive the vehicle back to base and lock it up.
On occasion the driver may be required to assist with administrative duties and/or assist the vet on duty.
