CARI's primary aim is to provide therapy for children and young people who have been affected by child sexual abuse. CARI also provides information, support and counselling to non-abusing parents, carers and siblings as appropriate.
What's Involved
CARI are recruiting VOLUNTEERS for Accompaniment to the Rotunda's Child and Family Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU)
We currently NEED VOLUNTEERS to train as ACCOMPANIMENT OFFICERS - to accompany and support children and their families on a 24hr Rota basis, through their forensic medical examination at the Rotunda SATU. Volunteers must be available to commit to four shifts per month.
* Full training and clinical supervision will be given to successful applicants. So no previous experience needed, just empathy and a smile.
* Applicants must reside in the Dublin area and be 21 years or over.
* Applicants must be Garda vetted.

All are welcome! CARI staff and volunteer members will present a background and overview of the services involved. Interested candidates will be provided with an overall insight into the process of becoming an accompaniment officer, as well as an opportunity to clarify any questions. A schedule of the interview dates will be provided and training dates.
More about your role with CARI:
This role requires the post holder to work in partnership with criminal justice agencies; children and families, forensic physicians and designated and named child protection professionals and requires highly developed communication and mediation skills.
The post holder will be required to provide support and communication to children and families/carers. To prioritize, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard, work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
Volunteers need to be available to be on call for the rota for four 12 hour shifts per month.
