About One for Ireland
One for Ireland is a charity fundraising campaign run under the Irish Youth Foundation (Registered Charity number CHY5957) that aims to empower Irish people to impact their communities. We partner with media, corporate organisations, retailers and volunteers to organize an annual national donation event and, with the help of our expert Charity Selection Panel, pick the best projects to support to have the maximum possible impact. In 2016 we raised €172,633 in just one day. This year (2017) the campaign will be running over 3 days and we will be aiming for a much larger donation for youth mental health charities. We want to give committed, passionate people a chance to hone be involved in raising funds and raising awareness for local mental health charities as part of a national campaign.
What's Involved
One for Ireland is a fundraising charity that aims to raise €1m euro for youth mental health charities across Ireland in April 2017. The Head of Technology and Design will provide technical support and ingenuity to an exciting national campaign involving large corporate and retail partners. They will be core team member of the One for Ireland executive team - see OneforIreland.ie
Because we are a new and youth led organisation there is plenty of scope for creativity and trying new things. The individual will be involved with strategy and business development as well as shaping the success of the campaign as whole. They will engage with team members, retail outlets, corporate partners as well as any tech and design partners that the campaign works with. They will be expected to attend a weekly team meeting and contribute as well as commit to weekly tasks.
Specific tasks include; Establishing, managing and advising on virtual donation mechanisms, graphic design, inputting into branding and logo design, overseeing the creation and upload of video content, providing technical support for an intensive social media campaign, providing technical support for www.oneforireland.ie, advising on partnerships with private sector bodies in the field of technology, implementing a volunteer management platform on the One for Ireland website.
What's required for this position
The individual will need to have good coding and design skills and be comfortable with web development across a number of scripts. Experience with design and web development is a plus as is having experience with online donation mechanisms. Previous experience in a charity or start up will also be considered. Given that this person will be part of a small committed team, good communication skills are desirable.
