About Dublin International Film Festival Festival Limited
Diff Festival Limited ( A non profit fully registered with charity number organisation) is one of Irelands Premier Film Events that typically happens annually over 11days in Spring. Over those 11 days the festival strives to bring the best in national and international film making and those who work in the industry from both sides of the camera from acting, directing, screen writing, art direction etc and provide access for public to see the many facets and experience of filming through specific industry events, screening
Help will be needed in areas such as venues, hospitality, office administration, production, ticketing, promotions, marketing and communications so whether you are welcoming Festival-goers to a venue and making sure that they’re getting the most out of the festival or helping behind the scenes at ADIFF HQ it’s a great way to get first-hand insight into the inner workings of an international entertainment event.
Volunteering activities in our venues include; ticket scanning, ushering, Audience Award voting, roving mic, box office (ticket collections), and general venue operations (crowd liaising & information point of contact). Through a co-ordination of these elements our venue staff ensure the smooth running of the Festival schedule.
Working in close association with our Hospitality team, duties may include the scheduling and compilation of guest packs, biographies and daily itineraries for our national and international guests. Being a Hospitality Volunteer is a great way to experience the buzz of the Festival.
Office Administration & Production
In these areas volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the daily workings of a major film festival and will get a taste of each of our departments: administration, production, publicity, hospitality & exhibition coordination.
Ticketing & Promotions
Duties here will include liaising between the main box office and festival venues, being a point of contact for general public, preparing tickets for venue distribution as well as highlighting daily promotions to the public all while working alongside the full time box office team.
Social Media Correspondents & Marketing Task Force
In being one of the vital parts of the festival, volunteering tasks may involve joining a social media team as advocates of the festival, participating in the market research. spread the word about the festival to as many people as possible maintaining the quality and consistency of the message across all the channels and working closely with the Festival Marketing Team and within the guidelines provided.
What's required for this position
Volunteers should be personable and sociable. Diligent, hard working and able to follow instructions carefully. They should be able to communicate well to the general public as they are often the first point of contact to festival customers.
