Every spring the Virgin Dublin International Film Festival takes place bringing together films and film lovers as Ireland’s premier film festival event. The Festival curates and presents the best in emerging international and Irish film and moving image culture being the only place on Irish shores where some of these films will be screened in a cinema. The Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival 2022 will be host to screenings and galas celebrating film and our 20th birthday, and will also have various and diverse live events.

The festival takes place: 23rd February – 6th March 2022.

Venues
Our venues for the festival are where the majority of the volunteering activities take place. By volunteering in our venues you will work with the venue managers to ensure that the festival runs smoothly and that all of our customers and audience members leave the screenings satisfied. The different positions that the volunteers will be filling in the venues include, but are not limited to; checking COVID certs, ticket scanning, ushering, helping with Audience Award E-voting, roving mic for post screening Q&As, box office (ticket collections), and general venue operations (crowd liaising & information point of contact).

Hospitality
Working in close association with our Hospitality team, duties may include the scheduling and compilation of guest packs, biographies and daily itineraries for our national and international guests. Being a Hospitality Volunteer is a great way to experience the buzz of the Festival.

Office Administration & Production
In these areas volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the daily workings of a major film festival and will get a taste of each of our departments: administration, production, publicity, hospitality & exhibition coordination.

Marketing
Working closely with the Festival Marketing Team, this is an opportunity to help spread the word about the festival to as many people as possible, maintaining quality and consistency of message across all channels. As advocates of the Festival, volunteers participate in market research and conducting surveys to find out more how our audience perceives the event and the festival as a whole.

Volunteer Commitment
Depending on your availability, you can either apply to be full-time (a minimum of one shift per day during the Festival) or part-time. Each volunteer must be able to commit to a minimum of five shifts.
