The Ringsend & Irishtown Community Centre is the key local organisation that provides community services and manages local facilities in Ringsend & Irishtown. We have an integrated approach to the provision of services from “cradle to grave” with approximately 35,000 usages/year.
From the Creche to the Active Retirement Group, we cater for our Youth and those in our community with mental and physical disabilities. From legal and political advice to gardening, dance and yoga. The Centre is at the heart of our multi-cultural community. We also reach out, with our Breakfast Club and Afterschool programmes.

What's Involved

RICC Radio aims to provide a special interest Community Radio service which stimulates, informs and entertains listeners in Ringsend, Irishtown and the greater Dublin area. Its activities and programming are based on community ownership, access and participation, and aims to reflect the special interests and needs of this community, in line with the community ethos of the BAI licence and the AMARC charter.

Our objectives include training of an adequate number of volunteers and staff, establishing the station as a going concern, and developing the station to the highest professional standards in order to best serve the broad community of Dublin. We here at RICC Radio, are committed to all volunteers being a part of the RICC Radio family and will be encouraged to take part in many different areas of studio life.

Volunteers should have an interest in community radio. We are particularly looking for individuals interested in; sound, engineering, production, researching, social media, journalism, PR, Marketing and administration.The people here in RICC Radio are very friendly and you will always have a bit of a laugh and lots of tea and coffee!

What's required for this position

Radio Producers:
1. Overall responsibility for the program they are producing.
2. Arrange production meetings to plan the program.
3. Responsible for the program content.
4. Complete running order and accurately times the program.
5. Provides scripts and running orders for all the team members *Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of the program following the broadcast.

We are looking to produce more shows and have less shows on repetition.

Radio Programme Researchers – Dublin
The volunteer will work alongside a radio programme presenter to research topics for programme, identifying people to interview, help with writing a script and generally helping to develop interesting programmes. Volunteers should have an interest in current affairs, and a good knowledge of local issues and community activity.

All other positions require a level of commitment and a willingness to be a part of a team.
