About Fatima Groups United
Fatima Groups United is a Family Resource Centre under the Family Support Agency and was established to address and prevent poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion in Fatima by:
1. Bring together, improve and develop the capacity of groups operating in Fatima to plan, manage and operate existing services and any new services or programmes.
2. Lead the regeneration of Fatima working proactively to develop key areas identified by the residents – education, housing, youth and childcare services, treatment, health, employment, environment, safety and sustainability.
3. Draw in statutory agencies to engage co-operatively to play their part to help make Fatima a better place to live.
What's Involved
About Gymtastics
This is a physical, creative and fun activities programme supporting children experiencing intellectual, learning or physical needs to develop self-esteem, self-confidence, inner potential and overall health.
It is a weekly club for children attending. We require from you :
• 1½ hours each Wednesday (4.15-5.45 p.m.) commitment, plus Training from time to time.
• An interest in working with children. This is a physical programme so a level of fitness is required.
Some of the work is one to one. Training provided as needed. The group runs during term times.
What's required for this position
Energy needed for the session. Children (age 5-12 yrs) have a range of disabilities and need support to enjoy the physical activities that are planned for the session. Each session is planned by a more experienced leader. Would suit someone who would like to gain valuable experience working with children/young people.
