The Irish Maritime Festival

About The Irish Maritime Festival

The award-winning Irish Maritime Festival at Drogheda Port is back on 16-17th June 2018.
With over 40,000 visitors it is now established as the largest Maritime Festival in Ireland. This family friendly festival includes Sailing Ships, Yachts, Coastguard and Lifeboat vessels and many more ships berthed at the town quays. The quays will be a hive of activity with music stages, a food quarter, kids play zone, a sand zone, a funfair and lots more.

The Irish Maritime Festival is hosted by Louth County Council and Drogheda Port Company in association with Virgin Media and is also supported by Fáilte Ireland. You can find out more about the Festival on www.MaritimeFestival.ie

What's Involved

If you love to get stuck in and help make things happen then we would love to have you on our set-up crew. We need a set up crew to help in the days running up to the Festival – from Tuesday 5th July to Friday 8th July. The Festival itself takes place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July. We are looking for strong and fit volunteers who can help with the physical work of setting up the Festival site. Drogheda Port is an industrial location and large site, so volunteers need to be in good physical health as the set-up is a busy and physical task. Volunteers will work in a team with strong guidance from the Project Team and there is always a great sense of achievement and fun in converting this space from an industrial site into a Festival space for visitors to enjoy. Volunteer Training and get to know you session will be held at 7pm, Monday 27th June
