About Thurles Fairtrade Town Committee
To promote awareness of Fair Trade and to encourage people to buy products carrying the Fairtrade logo.
What's Involved
The committee's aim is to promote fair trade.
At present, we take a stand at any event at which reasonable numbers are present. We hand out leaflets, raffle hampers of fairtrade goods, have a coffee morning during fairtrade fortnight, organise a schools gathering in LIT Thurles where a visiting producer gives a talk on how fairtrade helps his community, have displays of fairtrade paraphernalia in various outlets during fairtrade fortnight. We are open to any suggestions as to how best fairtrade might be promoted in the community.
We would welcome anybody who feel they can contribute to this aim.
