About Volunteer Stroke Scheme
Volunteer Stroke Scheme facilitate Stroke Support Groups which provide an opportunity for Stroke Survivors to come together on a weekly basis. As well as providing emotional support, the VSS clubs provide physiotherapy and brain challenging activities including quizzes, musical mornings, scrabble, and card games such as bridge.
What's Involved
We are looking for volunteers who will assist our Coordinator to run the Group and assist our stoke patients with the activities. We would also very much welcome other skills or interests you might have such as music, arts and crafts or computers etc. The Clubs run from 10am to 12:30pm.
Activities of the Support Groups are varied and can include:
Group physiotherapy sessions
Counselling for Patient, Spouse & Family
Day trips and outings
Respite breaks
Board Games
Cards
Boccia
Guest Speakers
Musical Mornings
Tea/Coffee & a Chat!
