About Foroige Dublin
The purpose of Foróige is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of society. This purpose challenges and supports young people to involve themselves in developing their character and talents.
What's Involved
Foróige Volunteers work as part of a team of volunteers to run a club for young people. Volunteers encourage the young people to be as actively involved in the club as possible by allowing them take on responsibility for themselves.
Volunteers should build positive and meaningful relationships with the members of the club and be willing to assist them in their own development and learning. Tasks can include, getting to know the young people, group work, facilitation, planning and organising, promoting a learning by doing approach and creating a relaxed and fun environment.
What's required for this position
Foróige Volunteers should have a positive attitude to young people and be willing to work as part of a team and share responsibility and authority. Volunteers should be willing to facilitate young peoples own learning and help them take responsibility.
