About Solas Project
Solas Project is a charity (CHY 17385) based in Dublin 8. Our vision is to see communities rejuvenated. We aim to do this by equipping and building up young people to overcome all limitations imposed on them by social and educational disadvantage through the adventure of discovering their abilities and self-worth.
What's Involved
ABOUT THE YARD
The Yard is a social enterprise made up of young people from 16 – 24 years old, often early school leavers. Its aim is to equip them with skills and knowledge that will empower them to fulfil their personal and professional potential.
We use wood turning as a tool to improve skills and awareness by demonstrating the benefits of teamwork. We share a common goal and measure outcomes to encourage growth in self-awareness.
What's involved in this role?
• Supporting our staff to run the programme.
• Building trusting relationships with young people in a workshop setting.
What's required for this position
• Wood turning experience.
• An interest in youth work.
• Someone who is reliable, patient, resilient and flexible.
