About The Irish Blue Cross
The Irish Blue Cross, founded in 1945, is a registered animal care charity. We provide a long established, volunteer-based, mobile clinic small-animal service at ten Dublin locations and in 2009 we opened a new small-animal clinic at Inchicore.
The charity services target the neediest of pet owners, providing practical support and assistance as well as educating pet owners on the benefits of responsible pet ownership. During the charity’s sixty-four years of existence, well over half a million small animals have received care.
The charity also provides a horse ambulance service that attends race meetings throughout Ireland, working in co-operation with racecourse vets. This service is fully funded by the racing authorities.
Our Volunteer Mobile Clinic Assistants help with the administration duties on our Mobile Veterinary Clinics. Our Mobile Veterinary Clinics operate from 10 different locations in Dublin. The clinics commence at 6.30pm and operate until 8/8.30pm approximately.
The duties of the Mobile Clinic Assistant include filling out client records on our database, taking and recording payments for veterinary services and assisting the vet on duty with any other tasks, this may involve holding an animal on occasion.
