About The Irish Maritime Festival

The award-winning Irish Maritime Festival at Drogheda Port is back on 16-17th June 2018.
With over 40,000 visitors it is now established as the largest Maritime Festival in Ireland. This family friendly festival includes Sailing Ships, Yachts, Coastguard and Lifeboat vessels and many more ships berthed at the town quays. The quays will be a hive of activity with music stages, a food quarter, kids play zone, a sand zone, a funfair and lots more.

The Irish Maritime Festival is hosted by Louth County Council and Drogheda Port Company in association with Virgin Media and is also supported by Fáilte Ireland. You can find out more about the Festival on www.MaritimeFestival.ie

What's Involved

We are looking for volunteers to help with the smooth running of the Irish Maritime Festival. We want to make this the best festival ever and are looking for a crew to help us make this happen.
We need a crew of people who will help us to convey the fun, friendly atmosphere of the Festival and help with all kinds of practical jobs such as:

  • taking tickets at the gate,
  • giving out brochures,
  • helping people on and off the ships,
  • helping families in the kids activity areas,
  • supporting the activities in the food area,
  • welcoming competitors from the Boyne Swim and other competitions,
  • surveying visitors to find out more about our Festival audience
    and so much more.

There are lots of interesting jobs to do over the weekend and we will try to match each volunteer with a role that best suits your interests and skills. Drogheda Port is an industrial location and large site. Volunteers will work in a team with strong guidance from the Project Team who will support volunteers throughout.
